Dutch Harbor-Church of the Holy Ascension & King Crabs

We went out with two places in mind which I want to go before I sign off:

1) The famous "Church of the Holy Ascension".

The Church of the Holy Ascension was built in 1826 by the Russian American Fur Company.
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.

2) A restaurant for King Crabs.
How can one go to Dutch Harbor and leave without eating king crabs? Well, not for me at least.

Read more about King Crabs fishing here:

The car number plate.
I started snapping the moment we got into the taxi.
Explored Dutch Harbor in a Taxi. It was just too cold to walk around (-6°c).

The driver is a lady from Korea.
Snapping photos with my compact camera SONY DSC-HX5 while on the way to the church.

Yeahhhhhhh we arrived.
More photos.

Almost lost my balance. The snow was just too thick.

Tidying up my hair in the strong wind.

King Crabs time!
at "Margaret's Bay Cafe" at the ground floor of the "Grand Aleutian Hotel".

Their menu.
This is what we were here for.

I love going to this cafe which overlooks the awesome scenery.
Sitting next to the windows was a bit chilly though.

Alaskan Crab Melt.

It is a sandwich with Bering Sea King Crab meat and cheese in it for USD12.

King Crab! The main reason we went to the cafe.

Explored the "Grand Aleutian Hotel" ground floor.

Brochures for visitors.

Fireplace.

It was unbearable to walk in the cold.

See how much his feet sunk into the snow.
Soft toys at "Safeway" supermarket.
You will see that I have just started collecting shot glasses recently.
I collect them because I do not drink. Will probably use them if I drink haha.
