Basic Fire Fighting Course

Woken up at 4.40am by my alarm clock and I went back to sleep after turning the alarm off. Shortly after I went back to sleep, my phone rang and Bing Ru morning call me. Thanks lots! If not I would still be lying on my bed sleeping. I had to leave my house at 5.50am to take MRT to BoonLay station to meet my classmates for Basic Fire Fighting Course at "Civil Defence Academy".

During the whole of the course we had to wear our overall which made us perspire like mad and we also had to wear the neon orange helmet which made my face itch.

So warm down there at the basement until Serene and I perspire until it seems like we got splashed by water.

We learnt how to extinguish fire with carbon dioxide extinguishers and water entinguishers. We had to extinguish fire at the basement whereby there is one area we have to enter in pair together haha.

Before our lunch break, we learn how to don and doff the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and had to carry 12.6kg of the oxygen tank...Heavy

The part most fun was the extinguishing of fire by the water hoses but due to the pressure of the water in the hose, some of us sort of lose control of it and almost fell backwards when squating down.

Yong Yong was "Nozzle 1" and I was "Nozzle 2" while Serene was the one behind to help us carry the heavy hoses; THANKS Serene =D Each of us had to play different roles and then enter the room with fire on one area and had to extinguish it but the fire does not seem to extinguish even though we aim at it with water.
